Dual OS – Enigma2 Linux and Define OS
The OCTAGON SX88 V2 offers two software platforms in one device. Enigma2 Linux provides advanced channel management, satellite configuration, an electronic programme guide (EPG) and support for compatible plugins. Define OS offers an alternative Linux environment with satellite and IP television features.
4K UHD and H.265/HEVC
The receiver supports Ultra HD resolution up to 3840 × 2160 and H.265/HEVC decoding. This enables playback of compatible 4K content when connected to a suitable television and supplied with a compatible video source.
DVB-S2 Satellite Reception
The built-in DVB-S2 tuner receives digital satellite television and radio channels. Multistream support, hardware BlindScan and satellite configuration functions are available. DiSEqC and USALS support depends on the installed software and its configuration.
IPTV, SAT>IP and Multiroom
In addition to satellite reception, the OCTAGON SX88 V2 offers IP multimedia capabilities. SAT>IP and Multiroom client functions allow the receiver to work with compatible network television sources and systems. Available functions depend on the software platform, device compatibility and home network configuration.
Built-in 5G Wi-Fi
The integrated dual-band Wi-Fi module provides wireless network connectivity at 2.4 and 5 GHz. It enables access to compatible internet services and network functions without requiring an Ethernet cable. The term “5G Wi-Fi” refers to the 5 GHz Wi-Fi band, not a mobile 5G connection.
Recording and TimeShift
The receiver supports television recording and TimeShift using a compatible external USB storage device and suitable software. Recording capabilities depend on the operating system, available storage space and the restrictions of the television stream.
